Other People is an independent record label established in 2013 by musician and composer Nicolás Jaar, today run by Nicolina Claeson together with Jaar. In its 13 year history, it has released over 90 music albums and half a dozen books.


Recent projects include full-length records by Cinna Peyghamy, aylu and Carla Boregas & Anelena Toku, the first album by Ale Hop under the name Alejandra Cárdenas, two EPs by French duo Surface Access, debut album of Enxin/Onyx (Hiro Kone & Tot Onyx), a zine and album by Eli Wewentxu, the debut collaborative album Intiha by Ali Sethi and Nicolás Jaar, Aho Ssan’s Rhizomes book/album, Saint Abdullah and Eomac's collaborative album, Dienne and Sary Moussa's debut records, Charbel Haber's debut book, Patrick Higgins' album Versus, Valentina Villarroel’s first solo cassette and records by collectives Period Music and Earth Sounds Now.


Other People has also showcased the visual work of artists Maziyar Pahlevan, Africanus Okokon, Zofia Kulik, Jena Myung, Charbel Haber, Abeera Kamran, and Somnath Bhatt, among others.


The label's current contract permits artists to retain all rights and to determine their revenue percentage following recoupment. Profits are allocated to funding independent musicians through grants, including the Overtones grant (2022), the Ladridos grant (2023), and the Alrowwad electronic music grant (2023); through events such as tidal.wav (2023), Exist festival London (2023) and the (un)building listenings workshop at Dar Jacir (2021–2022) ; and through various other initiatives, such as providing funds for the Cerro Logkoche school in occupied Wallmapu (2024-Ongoing), the One Sound One Sudan project (OSOS) — a cultural solidarity music project led by Reem Elbadawi, partly supported by Other People (2021–Ongoing), that aims to support the Sudanese resistance committees through collaborative creative acts — and the sonic restoration of the documentary oeuvre of the visionary Chilean filmmaker Sergio Bravo Ramos (2025-Ongoing).


The label has also funded the music studio inside Dar Jacir in Bethlehem, Palestine.

  • Terepa (2015), a 'telepathic' collaboration led by Kohei Matsunaga (aka NHK’Koyxen) featuring Rashad Becker, Charlotte Collin, Lucrecia Dalt, Laurel Halo, Julia Holter, Grégoire Simon, and Kohei himself.
  • Would It Sound Just As Bad If You Played It Backwards? A Collection of Sounds from the Studio Eksperymentalne Polskiego Radia (1959–2001) featuring Krzysztof Knittel, Eugeniusz Rudnik, Elżbieta Sikora, Bernadetta Matuszczak, and more. Both volumes feature companion art prints by renowned artist Zofia Kulik.
  • Caves (2021), a compilation of silences featuring Laraaji, Aho Ssan, Lucrecia Dalt and others.
  • Weavings (2022), a collaborative live piece with Juliana Huxtable, Ellen Fullman, Wukir Suryadi, and Rully Shabara of Senyawa, and Angel Bat Dawid.
  • Lydia Lunch’s spoken word piece "Conspiracy of Women" (2015)
  • Tomaga & Pierre Bastien's Bandiera di Carta (2019)
  • Lucrecia Dalt's Esotro / Veta (2014) with remixes by William Basinski and John Wall.
